Corner LED Lighting
Specifically designed for 2005 and newer Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptors, the new low-profile Corner LEDs provide maximum light output and true color reproduction. The LED assemblies are easy to install with standard size tools and mount inside the front corner, taillight, and back-up light housings, offering a sleek appearance. An additional benefit is the ability to use standard corner strobe cabling; providing overall cost savings and reliability in one package.
One of the most common supplementary warning systems used in emergency vehicles is the old style strobe system. Although strobes are relatively inexpensive and straight forward to install initially, the fragile tubes require continued maintenance. Their high voltage operation can cause electrical and radio frequency interference. And their optical intensity drops off dramatically with distance (since they are not placed at the focal point of the reflectors) or when used through color filters (such as taillight lenses).
Corner LED Advantages
Corner LEDs are proven to last longer than strobes, thus reducing vehicle downtime and maintenance costs. Corner LEDs enable you to install blue or red LEDs in the front corners or back-up lights, providing vibrant color vs. the washed out color of strobes.
To maximize the visibility of emergency warning for seated drivers at normal distances, Federal Signal Corner LEDs provide exceptional off-axis directional lighting. When a person is standing next to the Corner LEDs, they will immediately notice that they are not blinded by randomly scattered light as with strobes. Focused light is more efficient at longer distances, providing drivers more time to react to emergency situations in a safe manner.
